# Welcome to Sift

Sift is a Telegram-first project for personalised memecoin discovery and monitoring. The idea is simple: describe what you check before considering a coin, review the rules, and let your agent look for matching tokens.

Different traders look for different things. Sift is being built around each user's criteria, with contract addresses, qualifying reasons, relevant measurements, concerns and evidence links delivered through Telegram.

**Sift is in private development.** Guided rules, manual checks and a limited discovery implementation are available in the development branch. Conversational AI, verified liquidity protection, developer monitoring and bundle analysis are not connected yet. A complete live discovery-to-alert flow still needs validation. Read [Current status and roadmap](/sift/status-and-roadmap.md) for the distinction between implemented code and confirmed live behavior.

## Why Sift exists

Searching for new coins, repeating checks and watching wallet activity across different tools takes time. Sift's goal is to reduce that repeated work while keeping the evidence and its limitations visible.

The intended experience is:

1. Describe your screening preferences.
2. Clarify anything ambiguous and review measurable conditions.
3. Approve your rules, then activate your scan.
4. Receive relevant contract addresses with explanations.
5. Monitor selected tokens for changes once follow-up monitoring is supported.

Today, setup uses guided questions and buttons. Everyday-language instructions can be saved, but they are not yet interpreted by AI.

## What Sift stands for

* **Your criteria:** you choose thresholds and decide which checks must pass.
* **Evidence you can inspect:** reports identify sources, the pool checked and measurement windows.
* **Honest unknowns:** missing data does not satisfy a required condition.
* **Careful attribution:** suspicions are distinguished from confirmed findings; transfers are reported separately from sales when those features become available.
* **Your control:** Sift does not connect to your wallet, hold funds, request private keys or execute trades.

A match means the available measurements satisfy the approved screening rules. It does not establish safety or predict profit. You remain responsible for your research and trading decisions.
